Our Programs

DLC's varied programming allows students to be more independent and to self-advocate. Students individually select what is interesting and meaningful to them.

Every program at Diamond Learning Center is catered to our students' interests, so learning is not only meaningful, but exciting and fun. From pre-employment training to music, athletics, volunteering and culinary arts, students choose the path that empowers them most.

Student Employment

Working Towards Our Future

Students enrolled in our Working Towards Our Future program participate in a supported, meaningful and creative pre-employment class, which includes interview experiences. Interviews for specific paid employment within our community will include participants from the specific job site serving on the interview committee.

Employment participants will continue to expand knowledge in a small group to maintain placement and identify unexplored interests in other fields. Diamond Delights employs students from DLC right on site.

Far and away the best prize that life has to offer is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.Theodore Roosevelt

Community Miners

Student Volunteers

We dig in with helping hands. We believe that serving others opens doors that lead to change in our community, because we all smile in the same language. DLC students choose where they would like to serve within our community, based upon what is important to them.

We find when students select their own community based volunteer program, they take ownership and with that comes pride, honor and value.

Music, Mind & Body Wellness

Diamonds In the Rough

Music is an outlet that brings new opportunities for language, movement, social skills and self-expression. Our students truly enjoy playing and singing with the band Diamonds In the Rough, providing students with an additional by-product of self-esteem.

Where words fail, music speaks.

Athletics & Special Olympics

Courage In Every Attempt

Our students create bonds of friendship and support by participating in athletics and Special Olympics. Working hard to make our lives healthier, our athletes embody courage, determination and joy in every event.

Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.Eunice Kennedy Shriver

Instructional Cooking

Life Skills & Culinary Arts

Our Instructional Cooking team works hard in the community, including for the Focus Forward Organization and U-Turns Allowed Magazine. Hands-on culinary training builds independence and practical life skills while giving back to the organizations that support our community.

In-Person & ASD Services

Diamond Learning Center proudly offers both In-person services as well as ASD (Alternative Services Delivery), ensuring every student has access to the support they need, in the way that works best for them.
